She was not only used in the fishing industry, but also took part in regattas. The kit includes the pre-machined wooden hull, all wooden parts for the superstructure, masts and booms, pre-printed sails, all small parts for fittings and rigging, together with a detailed and richly-illustrated set of assembly instructions. Paint set and tools inclusive.Technical data:Scale: 1:135 Length: 380 mm Width: 65 mm Height: 310 mm HISTORY In shipping and yachting history you will find the Canadian Schooner Bluenose is mentioned several times. She was launched in nova Scotia in 1921, and was built as a fishingboat to operate in the rough waters off the coast of Newfoundland. Very soon her speed became apparent and she won all the great classic sailing races on the American east Coast. Just imagine a fishing boat which became the fastest yacht. Her fame was widespread and she was stamped on coins and printed on stamps. Her glorious career was finished in 1946 on a reef near Haiti, but the memory about her is still going strong. So much so, that enough money was raised to launch an exact copy in 1964, The Bluenose II. Since then this boat has been a vivid and verv fine symbol of bygone days.
