Constructo kit: The first lighthouse built 1716 in the United StatesAt the start of the American Revolution, American troops rmoved the lamps from the lanterns and burned the tower to prevent the British from using it.It was blown up by the British when they left Boston. At the end of the war, the Massachusetts legislative body passed a budget for the reconstruction of the lighthouse on the island.
