This model of the H.M.S. (His Majesty's Ship or "ship of its majesty") Peregrine is based on one of the original plans at that time of Keltridge for the admiralty and been the reproduction of a small warship, which guesses/advises as "sixth", i.e. as the sixth class, classified and was built in the year 1686 for the fleet of king George III was equipped with 18-20 small-caliber cannons. This type of warships was too small and too easily armed, in order to be able to participate side by side with the many more powerful, the so-called "liners", at the large sea-battles, and was therefore for other tasks intended, as for instance the escort for trading vessels, research travels, the transmission of messages or the transport of high personalities. King George III actually selected from this series of ships one, which became famous 1749 after a radical change of the interior equipment as the royal yacht "Caroline".
