Imara Zweischr. kit

A twin-screw tug, very much straight out of the days of the crown colonies. The Imara was built for Dar-es-Salaam and served during wartime in the Royal Navy under the name "Perseverance". The Imara is a typical example of the many ships built by English shipbuilders between the two World Wars. This nostalgic design will quicken the pulse of many an enthusiast and awakens fond memories of the "golden era" of British shipbuilding.The thinking behind this kit has been to create something of world-class authenticity regardless of the cost. It would be absolutely impossible to detail each of the carefully manufactured individual parts of this first-class kit, simply because they number about 1400. Hull, funnel, forward and aft superstructures are prefabricated in glass fiber reinforced plastic to include all imaginable details, such as rivets and weld seams. The wood for decks and wheelhouse are pre-imprinted with all details. Also included are approx. 800 precision-manufactured cast-metal fittings, which cover all details, right down to the pantry furnishings and the china used in the saloon. The dinghies in deep-drawn plastic with additional interior part and all accessories are also included. Very detailed assembly instructions and two accurate construction drawings are also supplied.Just like the Marie Felling, the Imara kit is available with twin-screw drive (like the original) or single-screw drive by simple installation of the steam engines Puffin, Pelican horizontal or Proteus.
