KR-20200 Karl und Marie model ... Baltic galliot Karl und Marie Product ID KR-20200
€ 139,00
The Karl und Marie is a typical Baltic galliot as frequently encountered around the turn of the century. These small galliots (15 to 20 m in length) served largely for transporting merchandise along the coast. They had fore-and-aft sails and the broad hull very typical of freighters, providing ample hold space and ease of navigation. The kit Karl und Marie has been especially developed with newcomers to historic ship modeling in mind. Nevertheless, the finished vessel looks anything but a "beginner's" vessel. This is because of the especially detailed assembly instructions, which, while not saving model builders from any difficult tasks do provide detailed explanations, making assembly a lot of fun and successful completion within reach of anyone with some manual dexterity and a little patience. The frames, keel and many other parts in this kit come laser pre-cut. The planking for the lower and upper planking of the hull are of selected quality and are easy to bend. The set of fittings contains the many finished parts, such as blocks, mast caps, rudder wheel and many more. The assembly plan, together with the assembly instructions, includes many full views, partial and perspective sketches. There are no parts duplicated in the plan. A detailed assembly plan is the most important aid to successful assembly, especially for newcomers.
