Le Mirage Kit

First-class Admiralty shipThe model Le Mirage is a reconstruction of an 84-gun first-class admiralty ship serving in the French navy at the time of Louis XIV, the Sun King. In addition to her armaments, the ship is remarkable for the variety of her decorations, an aspect given much importance in those days. In reconstructing this vessel, documents by Frederik Chapman, Colbert, Pierre Pugel, Charles Lebrun, Jean Berain and Willem van der Velde were inspected. A similar high degree of care was taken with the composition and manufacture of the assembly kit, the main feature of which is the set of fittings containing more than 40 gold plated details.
