Trent Lifeboat 1:16

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) is a Registered Charity which exists to save life at sea. It provides, on call, the 24-hour service necessary to cover search and rescue requirements to 50 miles out from the coast of the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. The Trent class lifeboat has been designed and developed by RNLI staff as a permanently afloat lifeboat to replace the now ageing fleet of Waveney's. There will be a total of 40 in the fleet when the build programme has been completed, not including relief boats. The design requirement was for a lifeboat capable of great speed and providing protected propellers and the ability to take the ground if required. The Trent is capable of 25 knots and, like all new all-weather lifeboats, is self-righting after a capsize.The Model: the kit includes approximately 1200 parts and is recommended for the more experienced model maker.
